Telehandler falls 40 metres
Two people have been seriously injured after a telehandler was driven over the edge of a track and fell around 40 metres in the mountainous region of Kirchdorf (Tyrol), Austria.
Details of the incident are limited but local reports suggest the two men, aged 25 and 35, were using the telehandler to collect firewood when they strayed from the snowy track. The telehandler plunged into a steep gully rolling several times before coming to rest. Both men were thrown from the vehicle and were left seriously injured some 15 metres from the machine.
Both were airlifted to the local hospital after one of the men summoned the emergency services from his mobile phone.
