Harbour Crane safety
The 18-year old boy died instantly yesterday when he fell from a harbour crane on the Tranmere Royal terminal slip at Rock Ferry in Birkenhead.
Wirral coroner Christopher Johnson is expected to open an inquest into the youth's death later this week
The death follows a report earlier this week of teenagers in Teignmouth who were warned of the dangers of climbing cranes and jumping into the harbour below. As most of these cranes are mobile, one wonders if they should not be parked up where they are less accessible??
