No pressure!

Sent in by a reader in Kent, UK, a photo of another roof cleaner with pressure washer and no access equipment.

One assumes that the man used a ladder to gain access to the roof, and then as is usual walks the pitched roof with pressure washer in hand. It does look as though he is tethered, but the exact length of the lanyard and where it is anchored to is another thing!

In spite of this balancing on the ridge of a roof on a cold and wet morning, carries unnecessarily high risks. It is hard to understand why this increasingly popular job is not studied more carefully to devise a safer and perhaps more efficient method of access and working practice.
