Unic goes green
Unic Cranes Europe will showcase a green battery powered Eco-095 spider crane at Bauma next week.
Designed specifically for interior lifting operations the 0.995 tonne capacity Eco-095 – along with the 2.9 tonne capacity Eco-295 – will become Unic’s first wheeled mini cranes in production. Powered by a 48 volt battery pack the company claims the zero emission cranes provide power for 2.5 hours of continuous operation.
With the minimal dimensions and lifting capabilities of the standard models, the 750mm wide Eco-095 and Eco-295 cranes can be easily transported in a goods elevator, moved through a standard doorway and controlled using radio remote.

Unic's first green spider lift
Unic Cranes’ chief executive Graeme Riley said: “Our bright green Eco-095 mini crane will be hard to miss amongst the rest of our signature red cranes on our stand at Bauma this year. This new machine meets the demand from customers and principal contractors for a more environmentally friendly lifting solution that helps to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising on effectiveness. It provides a perfect alternative for lifting in confined areas where diesel or LPG powered cranes aren’t suitable.”
