Nationwide Platforms opens mega depot

UK based rental company Nationwide Platforms has formally opened its new Birmingham depot, one of its largest locations to date.

The new depot, located on a four acre site, hosts the central region’s Customer Service Centre, along with a regional training centre, workshops, self-propelled and Specialist Vehicle divisions. It is home to over 900 machines and is manned by a staff of 45. It will work in tandem with a further six depots across the Midlands and East Anglia regions.

The company’s former Birmingham base was damaged by fire, prompting the company to relocate its employees and equipment to a temporary location, which has now become its new home. The depot already has IPAF Rental Plus certification.

Andy Parker, regional operations manager (Midlands) said: “The central region is packed with opportunities of all sizes to introduce and expand upon our working at height solutions. Our new depot puts us in a prime position to both manage local requirements whilst also offering support and expertise through the Midlands, East Anglia, and beyond.”

Executive director Peter Douglas added: “With around 900 machines, our new depot in Birmingham is one of the largest aerial lift depots in Europe. As such, with a leading new permanent home we’ll now be in an even greater position to support safe and productive work at height right across the area, regardless of the challenges or tasks that our customers face.”
