New R&D facility for MTU
German engine manufacturer MTU, subsidiary of Tognum, is investing €60 million to build a new research and development test facility at its plant in Friedrichshafen.
When completed the facility, which consists of seven test stands, will be used to run function tests on newly developed gas and diesel engines and develop its combustion processors and engine control systems.
Ulrich Dohle, chief technology officer at Tognum, said: “These test stands will be used to develop new series and in particular they will play an important role in the development of the gas engines.”
