AFI to license WorkZone in UK

AFI has licensed UK based rental company Aerial and Handling Services of Betchworth, Surrey to further develop and sell its WorkZone range of safety and security devices.

The agreement covers the entire range of WorkZone products including SanctuaryZone which prevents operators from being crushed, KeyZone which prevents unauthorised use of the machine and SmartZone which controls and monitors the use of a machine.

AFI director Nick Higgins said: “AFI is proud of our development of the WorkZone range, particularly the SanctuaryZone anti-entrapment device. However our primary business is powered access machine hire, sales and training and we recognised that the WorkZone range can be further developed if we transferred the license to a company with the skill sets required for this type of work.”

Aerial and Handling Services director Ian Harding added: “AFI contacted us about WorkZone because they already knew about the products we had developed. Realising that we had the right ‘can do’ attitude along with the necessary engineering/professional skills and industry contacts to succeed it made sense for AFI to offer us the chance to acquire the WorkZone license.”

Aerial and Handling Services is an access and telehandler rental company which offers after sales service and inspection, training, refurbishments and sales. The company also specialises in developing and producing attachments for scissor lifts and recently introduced the deckRail Xtra material attachment for Genie scissors – see: New Genie attachment.
