Liebherr to expand Irish crane facility

As part of its on-going developments of its facilities in Ireland Liebherr Container Cranes has commenced work on a new €50 million production plant in Killarney.

The new 16,400 square metre facility will provide a significant increase in its capacity and incorporate new state-of-the-art production equipment and automation technology in order to meet a substantial growth in demand for the products the company’s container cranes.

Liebherr’s managing director Pat O’Leary, said: “Demand for our container handling products continues to increase year on year, even though market demand overall has reduced. The new production hall will be up and running later this year. It will include the latest in technology and will be staffed by experienced personnel allowing us to meet the increased demand for quality container cranes.”
