Liebherr opens new centre

Liebherr has announced the opening of its $20 million maritime crane sales and service centre in Miami, Florida.

Located in Hialeah Gardens the 3,800 square metre facility includes a workshop with a nine tonne overhead crane, two six metre welding containers, a six metre wire rope reeling container and two mobile harbour cranes commissioning containers. The facility will serve as the company’s maritime crane division for both Central and South America as well as the Caribbean.

Gernot Schranz, president of Liebherr Nenzig Crane, said: “In terms of logistics, the sales and service center is ideally located: the port of Miami and Miami International Airport are in close proximity to the new site. This allows Liebherr to respond to customer enquiries within a short time and to accelerate the distribution of parts and services. It perfectly meets the requirements to further improve our sales and service performance in both North and Latin America.”
