Kranlyft UK appoints Alpha Cranes
Kranlyft has appointed Guernsey-based Alpha Cranes as its distributor for Maeda mini cranes in the Channel Islands. Alpha was set up by Geoff Van Katwyk after many years being involved in Guernsey metals welding, fabrication and steel erecting and seeing first-hand the increasing requirements for specialist lifting applications on various domestic and construction contracts.

Kranlyft has appointed Guernsey-based Alpha Cranes as its distributor for Maeda mini cranes in the Channel Islands.
“There was a need for smaller cranes than are currently available locally, cranes that could fit through doorways or around the back of buildings. With Health and Safety regulations restricting manual lifting limits to 25 kg per man, the decision to establish a company dedicated to those difficult and often restricted crane lifts,” he said.
Alpha has purchased a Maeda MC285 CRM(E) and MC405 CRM(E). All machine operators hold current CPCS category A66 tickets and have been fully trained by Kranlyft UK on the whole range of Maeda Mini Cranes as well as being fully trained to carry out contract lifts (appointed person, lift supervisor and slinger/signaller).
