More RAM for Smart
UK based Smart Platform Rental has invested in more RAM truck mounted lifts for its growing rental fleet
Last year the company started purchasing the 20 metre RAM Gemini 20:35 PTJ from UK distributor HLS, following an in depth evaluation process.
On the HLS stand at this year’s Vertikal Days, was a 17 metre PT17 in Smart Platform livery. The 17 is similar in most respects, to the 20 metre Gemini, but is a simpler machine without the articulating jib and radio remote controls. We understand that the company has ordered at least a dozen units of this model for its fleet.

We also heard that the company is working with the engineers at BlueLift/RAM to develop a new ultra compact sub 10 metre electric vehicle mounted lift for inner city work, although we have not been able to confirm the specific details of this project – something to look out for.
Smart has grown at a steady but solid pace by focusing on a limited range of reliable, simple to drive and operate, self-drive vehicle mounted lifts, that are as easy to rent as a car, with straightforward open pricing policies and snappy marketing. It now operates from three locations in the UK and tends to keep to itself rather than publicising its activities.
Since Bluelift became involved with the RAM brand sales have blossomed and it seems to have a winner in both the 17 and 20 metre Gemini models, which offer a very low overall height, realistic Gross Vehicle Weights and a sturdy overall construction.
