Two LPS 600 for Port of Gdansk
Two Liebherr LPS 600 bulk handling port cranes have recently been delivered and installed at the port of Gdansk, Poland. The port handles various commodities and bulk material handling is of high importance as it accounts for more than 25 percent of the total cargo handling.
The operator - Port Polnocny Co. PPS - opted for the bulk handling configuration, which includes four-rope configuration with two 72 tonne winches and a boom length of 50 metres. Additionally, the installation of electric drives and Pactronic allows for a very efficient and eco-friendly operation.

The LPS 600 is the strongest model in the LPS range. The portal construction is flexible in terms of rail span, number of wheels, power supply and portal height, ensuring that individual customer needs can be met.
Both cranes are equipped with the Pactronic hybrid drive system giving an increase in capacity of 30 percent, a reduction of fuel/energy consumption (litre/ton) as well as CO2 and exhaust emissions in the range of 30 percent depending on the operation. The hybrid drive system is virtually maintenance free needing just a visible inspection every 10 years. 100 percent recyclability as well as less are additional eco-friendly benefits of the system.
