Melbourne straddler

Spotted by one of our readers in Melbourne, Australia, a steelworker with Death Wish maximising the working height of a boom lift.

All the safety gear but no sense of safety in his head

One has to assume that the lift is fully extended and that it was not quite high enough to reach the top of the steel beam. So our man who otherwise looks the very model of a safety conscious modern worker with his hard hat, hi-viz vest and harness with a lanyard – attached who know where? - he probably even has safety shoes and glasses on?

And yet he chooses to climb up on to the guardrails where he risks his life should he slip, the boom move or whatever!
