A reader in Germany spotted a man using an assembly of ladders and wooden planks to carry out work in Berlin.

The man is seen painting a window shutter reaching around five metres up, from a short plank which has been precariously balanced between a narrow, sloped window sill and the rung of the free-standing ladder. Should, for whatever reason, the board slips, he loses his footing or that the entire assembly overturns, the wooden ladder used to climb onto the board would inevitably cause him addition injuries.

The use of ladders and wooden planks to carry out work in Berlin

Clearly a fair bit of time went into thinking and assembling a solution to solve his work at height problem, it is just a shame he did not use that time to seek out something more appropriate for the job. A definite one for our Death Wish series.
