Mercedes appoints head engineer
Mercedes has appointed Jörg Zürn as head engineer for Mercedes-Benz Vans, succeeding Sascha Paasche who is set to retire at the end of 2013.
Employed by Mercedes in 1984 Zürn has been responsible for engineering and procurement at Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus, heavy and medium duty cab-over-engine products at Truck Product Engineering and most recently the new Actros, Antos, and Arocs heavy-duty trucks.
Volker Mornhinweg, head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, said: “I’m pleased to have Jörg Zürn, a proven expert in commercial vehicle development, on our team. I wish him great success in his new position as Head of Engineering Mercedes-Benz Vans.”

Jörg Zürn
Jörg Zürn will be succeeded by Uwe Baake at Truck Production Engineering. With over 18 years at the company Baake has spent the last six years working in the field of truck engineering responsible for the competence centre Computer Aided Engineering commercial vehicles.
