France Elévateur has launched a new 17 metre working height platform designed for live line work.
France Elevateur says the new platform - mounted on its own 4x4 hydrostatic chassis - can work on live lines up to 225 kV and 400 kW and is ANSI/SIA 92.2 category A equivalent.
The first unit was delivered in May for a six month evaluation and follows two and a half years of development and testing. The insulated boom is made from a fibreglass tube covered with silicone forming fins which is said to improve external dielectric qualities when raining.

To maintain its internal dielectric qualities, booms are sealed against particle penetration. To ensure perfect airtightness, it is filled with a low pressure inert gas, monitored by pressure switches. Internal humidity is dried and checked inside sealed bowls.
The boom design has been developed by France Elevateur with its 33 kV insulated boom designed for ERDF.
