VOSA publishes best practice guide

The UK’s Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) has launched its latest best practice guide for vans.

The guide – which can be found and downloaded by clicking here – offers best practice principles to help raise the vehicle standards. Featuring an operator and driver check list and a diagram of a van walk-around check list, the guide is intended as a useful reference point for people who use vans either in their business or for private hire.

The guide features a walkaround checklist

Gordon MacDonald, head of VOSA enforcement policy, said: “It’s well known by people in the motor trade that there is a high first time MOT failure rate for this type of vehicle. It is hoped that this guide will prove to be a valuable tool to help drive up standards of those operating vans for business or private use, making the UK road network a safer environment for all users.”
