Hewden helps honour the great escape

As part of the 60th Victory over Japan (VJ) Day celebrations, Hewden, the UK’s largest rental company, hoisted a 4.5 tonne rock into place at the Eden Camp museum in Malton, North Yorkshire.

The Terex Demag AC 35L crane was supplied free of charge to the Escape Lines Memorial Society which raises grants, food aid and awareness for the survivors of those who helped Allied Forces escape from Prisoner of War (POW) camps during the Second World War.

The rock originates from Jean de Luc, situated to the North of the Pyrenees, and is being donated to the charity from the Regional Government to help form part of a memorial garden at Eden Camp.
