Two for Thomson

UK airline Thomson Fly has taken delivery of two 18 metre Ascendant A18-13TJ telescopic truck mounted lifts on 3.5 tonne Nissan Cabstar chassis, from UK access sales and rental company Platform Sales & Hire.

Purchased for the company’s aircraft maintenance division, the units will provide access to its new fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with one destined for Manchester and the second going to Gatwick airport.

The telescopic boom and jib of the A18-13TJ offers a full 13 metres of outreach with its full 230kg platform capacity. H-type outriggers provide full width, one side or narrow jacking options for maximum flexibility when setting up.

Following a round of demonstrations with different products Thomson Fly selected the Ascendant and said: “The 18-13TJ scored with its compactness and ease of safe operation, two features which figure highly in the tight confines of any aircraft maintenance ramp area.”
