Lufthansa adds Genie in Hungary
International airline Lufthansa has taken delivery of two 45ft battery powered Genie Z34/22N articulated boom lifts and placed an order for a 32ft Genie GS3246 compact scissor lift. It has also said it has plans to order a further three lifts in the near future.
Provided by Huntraco, the Genie distributor in Hungary, the lifts are being used to assist with the maintenance of its aircraft at Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc Airport. The boom’s 12.4 metre working height, 6.7 metres of outreach and an up-and-over clearance of 4.6 metres make them ideal for the work that the airline does locally – both on the apron and in the hanger – and they have also been fitted with Genie’s aircraft protection package.

Krisztián Radó, lift equipment administrator for Lufthansa in Budapest, said: “We first started renting Genie lifting equipment with Huntraco about nine years ago. To make a fair comparison, we also rented similar machines. For us, the Genie Z-34/22 N boom lift proved to be both fast, highly maneuverable and safe, which is precisely what we need. The expert sales and service support provided by Huntraco was also an important factor in our purchase decision.”
