Deutz power for Bobcat telehandlers
Bobcat has signed a supply ‘partnership’ agreement with Deutz engines for its small to mid range telehandlers.
The equipment manufacturer will fit Deutz TCD 3.6 L4 diesel power units to its TL360, TL470, T40140 and T40180 models, for both the agricultural and construction markets. These models previously used Perkins engines.

Bobcat's TL range will now be Deutz powered
The four cylinder water cooled Deutz TCD 3.6 model series is very compact and features a modular design, with a wide range of optional attachments. It offers outputs from 67 to 114hp/55.4 -90kW, and is said to be very easy to install, while its modular exhaust gas after-treatment system can be attached to the engine as an option.

The TCD 3.6 also comes with a charge air cooler and needs only an oxidation catalyst to meet the requirements of EU 3B and US EPA Tier 4 interim emission categories.
Vertikal Comment
This is the second major telescopic handler partnership that Deutz has announced this week, having confirmed a supply partnership with Manitou for its six and seven metres models on Tuesday. The fact is the TCD3.6 L4 is easy to fit, and offers a good deal of versatility in terms of meeting differing emission requirements and fuel availability around the world.
Expect to see more of this engine going forward.
