New compact telehandler from JCB
JCB will launch a new six metre/2.5 tonne compact telehandler - the 525-60 Hi-Viz at Conexpo this March.
The side engine mount 525-60 has an overall width of 1.8 metres and an overall height of 1.91 metres, and replaces the 524-50, 527-55 and the 520-50 rear-engined models, allowing a lower boom pivot point for better stability and increased visibility to the rear and across the boom.

The new model is powered by a new Tier 4 Final, 2.5-litre Kohler four cylinder diesel – part of JCB’s recently announced agreement programme. As with other JCB engines, there is no requirement for a diesel particulate filter or an SCR system to meet the Tier 4 Final emissions regulations. A simple two-stage hydrostatic transmission offers travel speeds of up to 25kph, while a short wheelbase makes the 525-60 extremely manoeuvrable.
An 80 litre/minute hydraulic pump delivers auxiliary hydraulic power for a side-shift attachment carriage, with a choice between JCB’s Q-fit carriage or a skid steer compatible attachment interface.
All boom functions are controlled by a single joystick controller, with proportional control of the two-stage boom extension. The machine is available with a choice of canopy or fully glazed cab, with the option of air conditioning.
