Access Link expands

The Access Link, the UK/Ireland association of independently owned access rental companies, recently held its quarterly meeting in Telford as guests of Haulotte UK. The invitation was initially planned for the manufacturer’s production facility in France, but members preferred the brevity of a one day event and therefore elected to keep it in the UK.

The meeting was well attended and the association elected two new members whose identity will not be announced until the next meeting after they have sought IPAF Rental+ accreditation. Additionally the meeting agreed that all of Facelift’s locations will now become Link depots, bringing the combined fleet of members to 5,150 units.

The meeting also included a demonstration of products from Haulotte’s range, including the HT23RTJ which was launched last year and the Activ’Shield Bar Secondary Guarding device which will be available from mid-2014. Members also had the opportunity to see Haulotte’s new diagnostic tool, available later this year.

Access Link chairman Keith John said: “It was an interesting and informative day during which our members had the opportunity to view and try a wide range of Haulotte machines. I was very impressed with the enthusiasm and professionalism of the Haulotte team and the feedback from the Access Link members has been very positive. All members were very upbeat about trade levels and it was unanimously agreed that the inter-Link Hire Rates Guide dated 2007 now needed some upward adjustment. Link members will always give support to members with national account business but it is now time to restore our returns by being more realistic on general hire rates.”
