Strategy VP for Cargotec

Cargotec has appointed Mikael Laine as senior vice president of strategy. He will also become a member of the executive board and will report to chief executive Mika Vehviläinen.

Laine, 50, was previously chief executive of Moventas group, one of the world's leading industrial and wind gear manufacturers. Prior to that he was chief executive of Yap Solutions for three years, before which he held a number of strategic and financial posts within the Finnish telecoms group Sonera.

Chief executive Mika Vehviläinen said: "Mikael has a strong industrial background and a long experience in strategic development. He has a wide and versatile financial expertise and his deep understanding from the IT and telecom industry brings us added insight as our industry is moving towards digitalisation.
