Kramer to extend its range

Wacker Neuson subsidiary Kramer is planning to expand its range of telehandlers with the launch of three new models later this year.

The new models will be unveiled in late March and will include two seven metres models, the 4.3 tonne 4407 and 5.5 tonne 5507, plus the nine metre/ 5.5 tonne 5509.

The 4407 and 5507 can take 3.3 and four tonnes to their maximum seven metre lift height respectively. The standard 5509 model has a maximum lift height of 8.7 metres at which it can lift 1.3 tonnes. However when fitted with Kramer’s hydraulic levelling and oscillating axle lock this is increased to 4.99 tonnes.

All three models share the same overall height and width dimensions of 2.5 metres by 2.49 metres however the 5509 is slightly longer at 5.69 metres compared to the 4407 and 5507’s 4.98 metres. Powered by Deutz engines, the new telehandlers feature a redesigned cab with an improved 16 function joystick, larger windows and an in-cab noise reduction.

Additional features include the company’s Ecospeed which allows continuously variable high-speed drive up to 40khp, its Smart Driving which lowers the engine speed to 1,800rpm when travelling at constant speeds, and its Smart Loading which allows for a fast easy fitting and automatic recognitions of attachments. The Smart Handling overload system also provides three different work modes – bucket, stacking and manual – which automatically retracts the boom when lowering, automatically telescopes in and out when lifting and lowering and stops the hydraulic function in the event of an overload.

The company said: “Our new telehandlers combine the best of two worlds - the sturdiness of a wheel loader, paired with the lifting height of the telehandler. Thanks to the numerous innovative assistance systems and useful additional equipment, the new telehandlers work faster, more precisely and comfortably than ever before and are therefore even more economical which is all in line with the motto ‘time is money’.”
