Liquidator for Evans Platforms

A liquidator has been appointed for Evans Platforms of Newhouse, Motherwell, Scotland, while its owner has established a new company

A notice published on Tuesday notes the appointment of Ian William Wright of WRI Associates, Glasgow, as the provisional liquidator for Evans Platforms Ltd which is owned by David Gwynne Evans, who also owns Evans Training and Evans Access Platforms, which has changed its name to 3443 Platforms.

Evans Platforms which offers truck mounted lifts for rent, was incorporated in March 2012, with the Training company coming just over a year later in May 2013. Evans Access Platforms was incorporated a few weeks ago on February 20th. The name change has obviously been made since then. We do know that Evans has debts outstanding with other companies for re-hire work.

Evans can appeal the liquidation petition/appointment although by forming a new company, it looks as though he plans to shift trading to the new business? Evans Platforms is both an IPAF member and an approved IPAF training centre.

This Rogue took me for over £20k. A word of warning to the unsecured creditors who have been told to re invoice one of his other companies. You could be next, when he doesn't need you anymore. Are you really going to carry on dealing with him? If you do, you are only encouraging him and his kind.

This appears to have all the outward signs of yet another phoenix set up with pre packaged liquidation as a means to walk away from liabilities that now third parties, in the form of cross hire suppliers will have to foot.
This company, if it sets up again, will doubtless ask for credit terms from the very same people it has just let down. However, if IPAF had a device within its constitution that would withhold accreditation for such companies until certain criteria were fulfilled (Trading history, time lapse for example) the delay with its inevitable loss of revenue implications might make some of these companies think again.
