Julian Wagner 1950-2014

Julian Wagner, the chairman of fire platform manufacturer Rosenbauer International for more than 30 years, has died following a long illness, he was 63.

Wagner was instrumental in driving Rosenbauer’s transformation from a small export-orientated business into a publicly listed global company, and one of the world’s leading manufacturers of fire fighting vehicles. He spent around 43 years with the company, 30 of them as chief executive. He retired from the executive board on health grounds at the end of September 2011.

Rosenbauer executive chairman Dieter Siegel said: “The news of the death of our former colleague Julian Wagner has dealt us a heavy blow. We have lost an outstanding connoisseur and pioneer of the fire-equipment industry, a long-time companion and a dear friend whose memory we shall always honour. His passing leaves a large gap in the Rosenbauer community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife and family.”
