Not for the faint hearted

A reader has sent in a video of a man working on an air conditioning unit between two buildings at a height of approximately 20 to 25 metres using a series of ladders.

Apparently spotted in Pakistan the video shows a man carrying out work to an air conditioning unit with a long series of cable laddering, traditionally used for routing cables around the walls and roofs of buildings. He is also carrying and using an electric drill and the inclusion of the home-made tool tray is a nice touch.

To prevent the extremely long ladder from falling, rope has been attached to the top two rungs of the ladder, which is being held by second man seen a further five metres higher on the roof. The air conditioning protective covering has also been attached to rope in order to prevent it from falling.

Other than holding on for dear life, there is very little preventing this man from falling as he is seen swaying about. One has to question the strength of the rope and the ladder rungs which are clearly not designed for this abuse. The cable ladders are also seen bowing under the sheer weight and height of the set-up...
