Crane operator fatality
A crane operator died yesterday after he was hit by a falling hook block which crashed through his cab roof in Hong Kong.
The operator Wu Ka-fai, 62,was operating his crawler crane at the Pearl River bridge construction site, near the River Trade Terminal, Tuen Mun, Hong Kong. Reports suggest that the block- a single line ‘headache ball’ fell after the hoist cable broke. The photo we have received indicates that this happened at the block itself.
