Paul Rosevere to Retire

Paul Rosevere sales director and joint owner of Kranlyft has finally decided to retire and exit the crane business. While he has often talked of retiring in recent years, this time he says it is definite.

He told Vertikal.Net that he planned to finish at the end of April, which should tie in with the company’s move to new premises. He will be replaced by Terry Marnock, currently the technical director.

Paul Rosevere

Having started out with Coles, Rosevere joined Kato Parts and service, now named Kranlyft UK, in the early 1980’s, when Kato were becoming a leading supplier of mobile cranes to the UK hire market. Later on he was one of the management team that purchased the company from Svedala.

In recent years as Kato stopped marketing its truck cranes in Europe, the company has made its name in the Mini crane market, with Maeda. It has virtually created the mini crane business in Europe from a standing start, and now sells the Japanese crane range throughout the region.

No matter how tough the market has been, and there have been some dark days for crane distributors over the years, Paul has always been a true gentleman. The industry will be a poorer place with his departure.
