Platform hit by truck

A man was taken to hospital yesterday after the platform he was working from was hit by a large articulated truck yesterday afternoon. The incident occurred on Interstate 91 near Rocky Hill just south of Hartford, Connecticut.

The platform, a 13 metre Utem Skytel mounted on a pick up/service truck, is owned by Dumorr Lift Rentals and was being used by Jason Brown, 38, of CMAC Electric to repair a Department of Transportation traffic camera. We understand that his injuries are relatively minor, and that he was harnessed into the platform at the time. The truck also hit an unoccupied Department of Transport van which was parked in advance of the platform.
