Palfinger has launched the 125 tonne/metre PK 165.002 TEC 7 for 32 tonne chassis
The new model has a maximum capacity with the jib of 8.2 tonnes - up from the previous 6.5 tonnes. With the PJ 240, the PK 165.002 TEC 7 has a maximum lift height of 35 metres or 40 metres when using the PJ 300L. The over centre linkage allows the boom to articulate up to 15 degrees above horizontal.

The new P-Profile boom is said to offer increased stiffness, and is lighter, contributing to the machine's overall lower weight. All components - sensors, hydraulics and electronics are well protected and by using special synthetic materials combined with KTL cathodic dip paint means there is no need to service the boom system. The PK 165.002 TEC 7 will be available from September this year.

The new PK 165.002 TEC 7 offers a 15 percent improvement in lifting capacities - 20 percent with the jib - compared to its predecessor
Gerald Pschernig, managing director of the Palfinger crane division, said: “Our goal was to develop a crane for heavy loads and high reach capacities while reducing the weight at the same time. The crane has been optimised for a 32 tonne carrier even with full equipment including the fly jib and winch.”
