A-Plant spends £50 million with JCB

A-Plant - Ashtead's UK rental operation - has ordered 1,550 new machines from JCB, one of the largest single orders the manufacturer has ever received, with a value of more than £50 million.

The latest order also includes the 10,000 JCB that the company has purchased, since it began buying from JCB 25 years ago, and includes telehandlers, dumpers and excavators, all of which will be supplied by dealer Greenshields JCB with deliveries scheduled throughout 2015.

A-Plant marketing director Asif Latief said: “This is the biggest order A-Plant has ever placed for JCB equipment and this substantial investment signals our intent to offer our customers one of the youngest fleets in the industry.”

JCB chief executive Graeme Macdonald added: “This is order is very significant as it is one of the largest we have ever won. We are delighted that A-Plant has chosen JCB to supply such an extensive range of products.”
