Sarens buys Baldwin’s 1000 tonner
Sarens has purchased the former flagship of the Baldwins heavy lift fleet. The Liebherr LTM 1800-D, known at Baldwins as the LTM11000D, is now the largest telescopic mobile crane in the Sarens fleet worldwide and is based at Sarens’ Middlesborough depot in the UK.

“The crane is a second hand 1990 model and is fully equipped with super lift and luffing jib” said Bev Bentley, managing director of Sarens UK. He declined to comment on the price, purchase arrangements, or identity of the previous owner as the deal is bound by a confidentiality agreement.
The crane is still in the previous owner’s blue and white colours, although the company name has been removed. It is likely to remain in the blue and white colours for a few weeks until work schedules permit a re-paint said Bev Bentley, managing director of Sarens UK. He added that “we already have three orders for the crane”.
* Baldwins has recently disposed of a number of mobile cranes as part of a major re-structuring of its fleet.
