New COO for Hertz Equipment
Hertz Equipment Rental has appointed rental industry veteran Bruce Dressel as chief operating officer, reporting to Hertz group chief executive Larry Silber.
Dressel is best known for his time at Sunbelt Rentals where he was president during a period of strong growth. He started out with McClean Rentals in 1980 and joined Sunbelt when owner Ashtead acquired McClean in 1996 and appointed him as president after merging it into Sunbelt. He left the business in 2003.
In 2004 he joined ADS – a provider of equipment and logistics support solutions to the Department of Defense and federal agencies - as executive vice president of acquisitions, and the chief sales officer, leaving at the end of 2013. Since then he has been consulting within the equipment rental industry.

At Hertz he will focus on leading the sales and operations teams and driving growth in North America. He will also inevitably be involved with the separation of the equipment rental business from the car rental company.
"We are pleased to welcome Bruce to the Hertz senior leadership team," said Silber. "Bruce has proven experience growing businesses in the equipment rental industry. He's a catalyst for growth, and I am confident that his experience and leadership, together with our existing team, will help us realize our growth strategy as well as drive financial performance."
Dressel added: "I am very pleased to join Hertz Equipment Rental and look forward to working with the team to build a great future for the organisation."
