Sanctions eased on training college
Following a visit by the City & Guilds external verifier on 20/21 of February, the sanctions on the National Construction College have been reduced.
This means that college can once again register, assess and verify all its own candidates, while an external verifier will countersign achievements.
The temporary sanctions on the college
See Training College ban were imposed, says the Construction Industry Training Board, which administers the colleges, for reasons related to the assessment of workplace evidence portfolios, as required by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority's NVQ Code of Practice, rather than the quality of NCC's training provision.
It claims that this is not unusual and that it helps the Awarding Body to ensure that all assessment organisations have their procedures in order.
