1,000th Liebherr offshore order
Liebherr has received its 1,000th offshore crane order – a RL-K 4200 ram luffing knuckle-boom crane – to international oil and gas company Total.
One of three RL-K 4200s ordered, the cranes are also the first Liebherr knuckle-boom cranes to be Ex-rated. Scheduled to be fitted to Total’s new Egina Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel later this year, the deep water vessel will be stationed 130km off the coast of Nigeria, and will produce up to 200,000 barrels of oil a day.
Gordon Clark, Liebherr offshore crane sales director, said: “Our first dealings with Total go all the way back to 1985, but our more recent involvement included cranes for all of the new build FPSO projects such as Dalia in 2005, Pazflor in 2009, Clov in 2013 and now with Egina. We also have a number of cranes on several of Total’s fixed platforms.”
