NCCCO acquires IAI
US crane operator certification company National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), has acquired the testing services of the International Assessment Institute (IAI), following the retirement of its founder and president Tony Mitchell.
Effective immediately NCCCO has taken on all responsibility for ‘Certification of Crane Operators’ candidate processing, test administration, score reporting and related services, previously provided to NCCCO by IAI.
All IAI personnel have agreed to join NCCCO’s new Testing Services Department headed by Marc Hone who was formerly vice president of IAI, has been appointed director of testing services for NCCCO. He will report to Joel Oliva, director of operations and programme development at NCCCO.
Chief executive Graham Brent said: “The integration of candidate processing into NCCCO’s operations is designed to create a greater cohesiveness that will result in internal efficiencies and enhanced service to our many thousands of stakeholders. It also positions NCCCO for future growth, and marks an exciting new chapter in the organisation’s evolution as the leading industry provider of safety-related credentialing services.”
NCCCO’s president Thom Sicklesteel, speaking for the board of directors, said: “Without a shadow of doubt, Tony’s contributions to the development and administration of NCCCO’s certification programmes have helped saved lives, reduce injuries, and generally made the construction industry a safer workplace. That’s a legacy that, in his retirement, he has every right to be very proud of.”
