Cramo announces new CEO

Cramo has announced that Leif Gustafsson, 48, will take over as chief executive next year when Vesa Koivula retires in March.

Gustafsson is currently chief executive of Stena Recycling International, a job he has held since 2012, before that he was chief executive of Stena recycling Sweden. Before joining Stena in 2008 he spent five years as chief executive of YIT Ab, part of the Finnish contracting group, he spent a good deal of his career with ABB, a division of which was acquired by YIT.

Gustafsson said: “I am proud to be joining Cramo, a company with a clear strategy to lead the rental industry development in Europe. I look forward to continue to build on the group’s positive development during the last decade.”

Cramo chairman Helene Biström added: “I am very pleased that we have been able to recruit Leif Gustafsson to serve as chief executive. Leif is a proven leader who has the experience from distributed services and a strong track record in delivering results. The board is confident that Leif will lead Cramo and further strengthen the company´s position”.

“Vesa Koivula has been instrumental in developing Cramo to the leading, stable and profitable equipment rental company as it is today. Under Vesa’s leadership Cramo has developed into an international company and increased its sales from €59 million in 2003 to €652 million last year.”

Vesa Koivula said: "To retire from Cramo after 12 years will not be easy. I will miss the people, but at the same time I look forward to pursue other engagements. The time is right and I wish the Cramo team the best of luck.”
