Two new Ruthmanns for Platformers

German truck mounted platform manufacturer Ruthmann is to expand its product line-up with the launch of two new truck mounted lifts at Platformers’ Days next month.

Ruthmann has launched the new 17 metre Steiger T 170

Mounted on a 7.5 tonne chassis the T170 has a 17 metre working height, 12 metres of outreach 320kg Platform capacity, and 185 degree of jib articulation. With an overall weight of 6,900kg it offers a cargo capacity of 600kg.

Platform capacity is 320kg

The T170 is aimed at the street lighting, tree and electricity line clearance sectors, with compact dimensions, decent payload and a rigid platform. Ruthmann says that this type of 17 metre class platform is popular in central Europe, with a population of more than 500 units many of which are now aging as manufacturers have not offered this type of unit for around eight years, while the larger 19 and 23 metre class platforms do not offer the required payload.

The new platform is mounted on a 7.5 tonne chassis and has a 12 metre outreach

The platform on display will be mounted on a Mercedes 816 chassis although it can be mounted on several other chassis. The full range of platforms can be fitted as well as longer custom made storage boxes. Several orders have already been booked, including the first order for eight machines.

With a 600kg payload, the T 170 can be fitted with a variety of storage boxes

Few details of the second new machine have been released but it has temporarily been named the Steiger T 3XX. Mounted on a two axle truck and with the T-series currently capped at 33 metres and the Height Performance series starting at 38 metres it is possible the new model will fit somewhere in between.

The new Ruthmann T 3XX will be launched at Platformers' Days next month

Both of the new platforms will feature Ruthmann's new platform-mounted operator ‘cockpit’ information and control unit, which has been in development for the past two years. This will be available on every new model in the near future.

Ruthmann also said that more new models will be introduced at the Bauma show next year.
