Low level pallet platform

A reader in Dublin, Ireland spotted an unusual use of pallets as a form of low level work at height equipment.

The man was spotted in a “well known German owned supermarket” using a dozen pallets stacked to provide a two metre high work platform – looking at how he is working one cannot but wonder why he did not use 11 pallets?

Just what you want to see in your supermarket aisle

This is of course dangerous for both the man on the stack and anyone who might be walking by when he stepped back and fell. But on top of that it is grotesquely inefficient and looks awful in a retail environment. Perhaps this is all part of the low budget ‘hair shirt’ image the company likes to create. Not sure which of the two it is but perhaps they need a visit from an access specialist to show them the error of their ways?

Definitely one for our Death Wish Series

One or two fewer pallets might have been an idea
