Almost – yet not quite

Spotted by a reader in Glasgow, Scotland, a man with a reasonably well built tower at least to a point when he seems to have run out of components.

The result is a guardrail that will flip him over the top if he steps back and four spigots at a height that could easily impale him if he trips. On top of that the absence of toe-boards seems minor.

A tower in central Glasgow - well cordoned off

In the words of our correspondent:

"Almost - Yet so far!
I took this photo this morning on West George Street in the City of Glasgow. The chap seems to have went through a lot of effort to secure his work area – probably obtained a permit due to the central location he was working in. Yet he seems to have failed when it comes to the building of his tower. Using his own bracing pattern, his working platforms falls short of the minimum requirement of a 950mm guardrail. Amongst other failings”.

Have a safe weekend
