New 26m Bluelift

Italian spider lift manufacturer Bluelift is to launch a new 26 metre spider lift, the SA26 at the TCI Expo - the world’s largest tree care trade show - in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania next month.

Based on the company’s best-selling 22 metre SA22, the new SA26 is aimed at the tree care, facility management and rental market. It features a dual sigma type riser, four section telescopic boom and articulated jib.

With an overall weight of only 3,350 kg the new machine offers up to 14.5 metres outreach with one man, or 11 metres with its 250kg maximum platform capacity. The dual riser design gives an up and over height of 9.5 metres and allows the unit to work flush with walls, with full outreach available from a height of three metres to around 12 metres.

Overall stowed width is 990mm, extending to 1.2 metres for additional stability on uneven ground. The SA26 has an overall height of 1.98 metres and is 5.58 metres long, or 4.91 metres with the quick disconnect platform removed. Platform rotation is 160 degrees, a micro switch is installed to ensure that the basket is installed correctly before lifting functions can be activated.

Heavy duty lifting eyes enable the platform to be safely and easily lifted by crane, while four separate tie down lugs are built in. Once in position the unit sets up on its multi-position outriggers, that can be set up in spaces of 4.5, 3.7 or 2.7 metres width, without sacrificing maximum outreach, asymmetric set up is also available as an option. Both systems automatically adjust the working envelope to provide the maximum allowable performance for the actual outrigger set up.

The standard SA26 is powered by a 15hp Honda and electric motor, giving unlimited indoor/outdoor use. Alternatively a single cylinder diesel is available along with a Lithium ion-battery pack, for an electric only or dual fuel/hybrid versions.

The remote controller features six proportional joysticks, divided into two groups (left and right) making it simple and intuitive to operate two functions simultaneously with no loss of speed.

The standard Honda engine runs at a slower 2,000 RPM to save fuel, lower emissions and reduce noise, it also includes a Start/Stop function. Other features include: Automatic superstructure centring, movement speed control which slows functions when the weight in the platform and outreach are close to the machines safe capacity, and a side slope warning alarm while driving, which will cut out at a certain point, only allowing the operator to reverse out of danger to safety.
