ACOP is no more

New Zealand’s Elevating Work Platform Association has advised members today that the revocation of the country’s Approved Code of Practice for Power-Operated Elevating Work Platforms is now complete and that going forward all new or used aerial work platforms imported into the country must comply with the AS/NZS1418:10 standard.

The move follows the official publication in the official New Zealand Gazette late last week- Click here to see the official notification The EWPA letter, dated today is published in full below.

The change essential means that the old Approved Code of Practice for Power-Operated Elevating Work Platforms is now fully replaced by the new Best Practice Guidelines for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, which was first published last year. Click here to download the Best Practice Guide

Dear Members,

The EWPA are pleased to advise industry that the REVOCATION of the Approved Code of Practice for Power-Operated Elevating Work Platforms is now complete.

The ACOP was superseded by the Best Practice Guidelines for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms in August 2014. It is important all of industry recognise this important change, and the existence of the Industry Best Practice Guidelines. Please share this announcement when and where appropriate.
