Hewden restructures sales & marketing

UK rental company Hewden has appointed new sales and marketing director along with three new sales directors which the company hopes will give it “a more sector focused go to market approach”.

The new sales and marketing director is Kumar Bhamidipati who joins the company from Elco Heating Solutions in Germany, where he was head of strategic marketing and brand management. Prior to that he was responsible for marketing at Racold Thermo in India, having joined the business in 2010 from Hilti UK, where he was head of strategic marketing. He joined Hilti in 1994 as a key accounts manager for Russia, moving into marketing with Hilti Russia a couple of years later.

In his new role he will be responsible for Hewden’s marketing strategy, product management and sales support.

Kumar Bhamidipati


The three new sales directors who will work closely with Kumar, are:

Lucy Furnival is director Construction, she joined the company in June to head up sales to the construction industry having previously worked for Speedy Hire -where she was head of service excellence. Prior to that she worked with PZ Cussons in the HR area, having joined the business in 2010 from Hilti where she held several roles, the most recent being regional sales manager for north west UK .

Jeff Schofield becomes director of for a new Events division, having been with Hewden and its previous owner Finning for 30 years, in a number of roles in operations, sales and marketing and moves into his new position from the post of marketing director.

Steve Smith is now director of Industrial and Infrastructure, he previously head of sales Industrial, having joined the company at the start of 2013 from Severn Unival where he was general manager, prior to that he worked for Petrolite and Alliance.

Chief executive Adrian Murphy said: “Hewden is rapidly evolving into a far more customer centric business. This new structure will enable customers in the markets we have targeted to be clear around what innovation, value and choice means for them when dealing with Hewden.

“This is a business with incredible resources. Not only in terms of the vast products we stock, but more importantly, the people and the experience we have across our network. This new structure will help leverage those resources further, ultimately make it easier for customers to do business with us”.
