Record year for Liebherr
Liebherr has issued an estimate for its full year revenues, prior to the publication of its annual report in June.
Total revenues were €9.248 billion, up 4.8 percent on last year and the highest that the company has ever achieved.
Revenues within its construction related businesses - which include mobile cranes, telehandlers and concrete and earthmoving equipment – improved 6.4 percent to €5.63 billion. Maritime cranes are lumped in with other divisions, which include refrigerators and aircraft landing gear.
Revenue increases were seen in the Middle East, the Far East, Australia and the Americas, while sales declined in Eastern Europe and Africa. In the all-important Western Europen region sales were largely flat.
Investments in facilities topped €746 million and included a new tower crane powder-coating facility in Biberach an der Riss, A new assembly hall for maritime cranes at the port of Fenit, Ireland and numerous expansion project at its sales and service companies around the world, including at Liebherr Australia, which completed its Adelaide facility and opened a subsidiary in Auckland, New Zealand. Liebherr Canada which expanded its facilities in Burlington and opened a remanufacturing centre for mining components in Acheson. While new customer centres were opened in Durban, South Africa, Kusbass, Russia and in Bogotá, Columbia.
