Genie to launch 60ft electric boom

Genie will unveil its all new Z-60/37 DC articulated boom lift at the ARA/Rental show today.

The new machine is based on the current Z-62/40 diesel powered boom lift and shares a lot of its components and parts. The two stage dual riser is the same structure as the Z-62/40, with shorter elements, while the two section telescopic boom and articulated jib remain the same. The result is that it has slightly less outreach at 11.3 metres, while up and over reach is 7.4 metres.

The new Genie Z-60/37DC has four wheel electric drive and oscillating axle

The unit has four wheel direct electric drive and oscillating axle to offer good performance around rough job sites and is 2.2 tonnes lighter than the Z-62/40. Battery power is said to be strong enough to last a full shift making this a versatile quiet, clean machine. Expect to see a Hybrid version at Bauma.

The new Z-60/37 has 11.3 metres outreach at an up & over height of 7.3 metres

The company has also launched the new four wheel steer option on the Z-62/40 diesel powered unit, which uses a heavy front axle rather than belly weights to provide the additional counterweight required for the four wheel steer option.
