Kiloutou moves into Germany
French rental group Kiloutou has acquired Hamburg based Starlift giving it three specialist aerial lift and telehandler rental locations in Hamburg-Oststeinbek , Rostock Broderstorf and Berlin-Grossbeeren.
It has a fleet of around 750 platforms up to 48 metres, a fleet of telehandlers and its one delivery transport fleet. It employs 54 and is an important regional player in Northern Germany.
The entire Star Lift team, including founder and managing director Hans-Dieter Kark and his son Oliver, will remain on board and continue in their current roles- with Oliver Kark as chief operating officer. Hans-Dieter Kark will also join the advisory board of Kiloutou-Holding in Germany. The deal is expected to close in early April.
Kiloutou chief executive Xavier du Boys said: "With this acquisition Kiloutou can continue its international expansion and secure a position on the third-largest European market, which has great potential. Starlift with its excellent reputation is the ideal starting point for the development of this very fragmented market. The longer-term objective of Kiloutou in Germany is to increase its activity to other sectors and regions. "
Hans-Dieter Kark added: "With Kiloutou we have found a good European partner, with which we can continue our record of profitable growth over the long term. We will continue to provide excellent service quality to our customers and business partners and combine our growth with a European market leader. I am personally convinced of the development plans for Kiloutou in Germany and will actively support the company as chairman of the advisory board Kiloutou Holding Germany. "
