Two new Multitels

Multitel will launch two brand new 3.5 tonne truck mounted platforms at Bauma and then Vertikal Days. Both new models are larger versions of recently launched machines that have sold well since their launch 18 months or so ago.

The 20.4 metre MT 204 is a development of the 16.2 metre MT 162 EX straight telescopic boom with 300kg platform capacity. The MT 204’s four section boom provides up to 14 metres of working outreach, H-frame out and down outriggers, with variable deployment width, including all inboard, extended on one side only or extended on both sides. In narrow jacking mode the MT 204 still has 10 metres outreach and can work at full height with the maximum capacity, while almost six metres outreach is available with 300kg.

Standard controls are fully proportional cross over joysticks, as is single button automatic outrigger levelling and 180 degrees platform rotation. Cab protection and single button return to centre are also standard while a single ‘go home’ button to fully stow the unit automatically is optional.

The second new model is the 22.6 metre Multitel MJ 226, with telescopic boom and short telescopic jib, developed from the successful 20 metre MJ 201. It uses the same boom and jib configuration, but employs a four section boom under the two section jib, while the MJ 201 boom is three section.

Maximum outreach is 12.3 metres, and it retains the same below ground capability as its smaller brother. Platform capacity is 250kg, and standard equipment much the same as the MT204. An optional 4x4 chassis is in development and should be ready later this year.
