First glimpse of new Bronto

The first new 70 metre Bronto S70XR has been completed and is ready to start its trip to Munich for next week’s Bauma exhibition.

The new platform is the largest in Bronto’s new XR range, mounted on a 32 tonne four axle truck chassis, with an overall length of under 12 metres. Variable outrigger positioning and automatic levelling are both standard.

The new Bronto S70XR is ready to roll


The boom configuration includes a six section main boom, long two section articulated jib/top boom and Sky Jib- with manual or automatic control. In addition to the 70 metre working height, the unit offers an outreach of 37 metres, and maximum up and over reach of 53 metres. Maximum platform capacity is a healthy 700kg – or 600kg when equipped with the 3.7 metre wide hydraulic extending platform.

The new machine has a six section main boom, two section top boom and short jib


A 400kg material davit and winch is also available, with a further option of a 1.3 tonne material hoist attached to the boom base section. All of the other features from the XR range are included, such as the new precision controls, and Bronto Compass remote diagnostics. A wide range of options includes electric power for the superstructure and the specialist circular camera platform.

The First machine has been sold to German rental company Berteit, of Herne in the Ruhr area.
